As a young girl, at just 11 years of age, Katy Barnfield first met the sleek, lightweight substance that would shape the course of her life: Carbonfibre. Her father, a craftsman and artist in his own right, introduced her to this fascinating material. He taught Katy how to bend and shape it, how to work with it and bring out its unique beauty. Inspired by him, Katy pursued her passion for art and design, earning numerous qualifications up to a university level.

Years later, Katy’s passion for Carbonfibre and resin art took a thrilling turn as her fascination for pop culture, Formula One, and motorsport racing began to seep into her work. Katy started merging her love for speed and art, creating pieces that echoed the adrenaline rush of a race, the roar of an engine, and the sleek design of a F1 car.

Katy continually strive to develop her unique process, to discover new ways of bringing this material to life. With nearly 30 years of experience, she’s been fortunate to have work commissioned by celebrities, including McLaren’s F1 driver Lando Norris, to commemorate his debut F1 Silverstone race.
